Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Shura council approved on Sunday (December 6, 2015) a proposal regarding the amendment of some provisions of 2005 political societies law. The proposal suggested banning clerics affiliated to political societies from delivering religious speeches.
For his part, the Salafist Member of Parliament Adel Al-Moawada rejected the proposal, considering that it "denies the clerics, as citizens, political participation (...) Restrictions should be imposed on political discourse instead of denying clerics from participating in political activism."
