Bahrain Mirror: Detained Bahraini opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman stressed that he will press ahead on the path of peaceful struggle to establish democracy in Bahrain as ancient constitutional monarchies did.
Sheikh Salman's official Twitter account expressed his thanks to the "noble struggling people."
Addressing the people, he said: "I kiss your hands one by one for what you have done for the sake of your God, country, people, and detainees over the past five years of heroic peaceful struggle".
"My sincere thanks and great gratitude goes out to every individual and party that supported the calls of the Bahraini people for democracy, freedom and equality, and worked for the sake of accomplishing respect for human rights and releasing all the prisoners of conscious in Bahrain", he further added.
"I trust God's promise of victory for whoever strives for God and supports this noble struggling people and their humanitarian and just demands," Sheikh Salman concluded.
Sheikh Salman was detained on December 28, 2014 and has completed his first year in prison. He was sentenced to 4 years in prison by the court of first instance, yet the court of appeals hasn't issued its verdict yet.
