Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini security authorities prevented on Sunday (October 16, 2016) head of the monitoring and documentation unit at the Bahrain Center for Human Rights (BCHR) Enas Oun and head of the monitoring and documentation unit at European-Bahraini Organization for Human Rights Ahmed Al-Saffar from leaving the country.
The King Fahd Causeway authorities did not present any reasons behind the travel ban and asked Oun and Al-Saffar to contact the court or public prosecution to know the reasons behind the ban.
The authorities have launched a widespread campaign against the opposition and Shia majority since June and took several measures including banning human rights activists from leaving the country in order not to take part in international events. This step prompted condemnation from the United Nations and Bahrain's key allies; London and Washington.
