Activist Yousif Almuhafdah: Hussam al-Mir, Prosecution's Witness Monitoring Opposition "Tweets"

Bahrain Mirror: Deputy Head of Bahrain Center for Human Rights, prominent activist Yousif Almuhafdah, said that an employee called "Hussam al-Mir", who works in the criminal investigations unit, is the Prosecution's anonymous witness in all new cases brought up against activists to justify the travel ban against them.

On his "Twitter" account, Almuhafdah added, "al-Mir's role is to monitor the peaceful "tweets" that criticize and oppose the government, while he turns a blind eye and goes silent over sectarian tweets."

The Bahraini activists believed that al-Mir is the "anonymous witness, the witness who didn't see anything, as he witnessed the activists practice their right to demonstration, and charged them with "assembly"."

The Bahraini authorities have launched last June the worst campaign since the Saudi and Emirati forces entered the country to crush democracy-demanding protests in March 2011.

The Bahrain Center for Human Rights said that summoning activists by the Prosecution, and convicting them with charges, is a means to "justify" the travel ban imposed on them; a measure that received harsh criticism from the United Nations and Washington.
