Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his Saudi counterpart Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud agreed (Thursday December 9, 2016) to conduct a study for constructing the "King Hamad Bridge", under private funding. The bridge is planned to link Bahrain to Saudi Arabia, and be in parallel to King Fahd's Bridge.
Bahrain and Saudi Arabia had announced last September that a new bridge will be constructed to link both countries together, which are already linked by a sea bridge since 1986.
The sharp drop in oil prices overshadowed both countries, a problem which probably led them to resort to the private sector funding for the aforementioned project.
