Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's First High Criminal Court presided over by judge Ibrahim Al-Zayed and membership of judges Wajih Al-Shaer and Medhat Hamouda and Yousif Bu Hardan as a secretariat adjourned the case of a suspect accused of attacking security men until September 28, 2017, in order to assign him lawyer through the Ministry of Justice, with the continued detention of the suspect.

The Public Prosecution accused the suspect of attacking the bodily integrity of two security men, causing the injuries mentioned in the medical report, for performing their jobs, noting that the attack did not hinder them from performing their personal works for more than 20 days. The prosecution also accused him of deliberately damaging a vehicle owned by the Ministry of Interior.

The authorities claim that a security force was heading to arrest one of the suspects and when they reached his home, they found a person near the house sitting in the suspect's car near the driver's seat. When the security men approached and told him they are policemen, he closed the windows, jumped to the driver's seat and drove the car backward trying to flee. He then hit the security men's and got out of his car, trying to run away. Then, he entered the suspect's house. Thus, the security men chased and arrested him.

The 27-year Bahraini suspect denied the charges brought against him, saying that "While I was waiting for my friend near his house, two men surprisingly came and knocked on the window. I got confused, locked the doors, sat on the driver's seat and tried to run away. However, the patrol intercepted the car I was driving so I hit them. Then, one of the men came near the driver's door, opened it and sprayed pepper in my eyes. I tried to run away and entered my friend's house where I was caught and arrested."
