Bahrain Mirror: The High Administrative court held on Wednesday (October 11, 2017) its first sessions to consider the appeals filed against the verdict dissolving National Democratic Action Society - Wa'ad.

The court adjourned the case until October 22,  in order to hear the response of Waad Society's defense panel to the Justice Ministy's warrant.

It is to mention that the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments filed a lawsuit demanding to dissolve Wa'ad because it committed serious violations targeting the principle of respecting the rule of law, supporting terrorism and sanctioning violence. The ministry said that the society glorified convicted terrorists and saboteurs who used weapons, detonated bombs in killing and wounding several security men and also supported parties convicted of inciting violence and promoted to forcibly change the society system in the country.

The First High Administrative court ruled on May 31, 2017 the dissolution of the opposing secular society.

Wa'ad Society is the third opposition association to be dissolved since the outbreak of the mass protests in the country in 2011, following the Islamic Action Society (Amal), and Al-Wefaq - National Islamic Society, Bahrain's biggest opposition societies dissolved last year.
