Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain has lifted the ban on issuing visas to Pakistan, reported number of Pakistani media outlets.
They noted that Bahrain had imposed a ban after it was revealed that Afghan nationals were issued visas to Bahrain in the guise of Pakistani citizens with the help of Pakistani embassy.
This comes in contrast to the allegations made by the Bahraini government about the arrest of Iranians entering the country with forged Asian passports in September 2018. This was followed by a large wave of summons of Pakistanis living in the country for interrogation and fingerprinting, which coincided with a ban on issuing visas to citizens of Pakistan.
Reports say that the Foreign Ministry, under the PTI government, had taken action against the responsible persons, adding that Bahrain's government was finally satisfied with the steps taken by Pakistani government and removed the restriction on issuing visas to Pakistani citizens.
Bahrain has introduced visa-on-arrival facility for Pakistanis residing in Gulf countries and e-visa facility for Pakistanis wanting to go to Bahrain.
The reports say that with these steps by Bahrain's government, Pakistanis will be able to go to the gulf country for employment and tourism purposes, noting that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government and Bahrain's embassy played a key role in lifting the ban.
The Pakistani media also said that the incumbent government has succeeded in improving ties with Bahrain after taking its relations with Arab countries to a new height.
