Bahraini Gov't: We Didn't Invite Israeli Delegation to Attend Global Entrepreneurship Congress

Bahrain Mirror: The House of Representatives said that it received a clarification from the government regarding its statement on participation of number of Israelis in Global Entrepreneurship Congress.
The government has rejected claims that it had invited Israel, Myanmar, North Korea, Taiwan, Iran and Qatar. However, the government added, the organizers have the right to send invitations directly to any country.
"Global Entrepreneurship Congress is considered the largest event and global gathering of entrepreneurs. The conference is held annually, and the Kingdom of Bahrain hosts the 11th edition on 15-18 April. Manama won the right to host the conference on November 15, 2017 following competition with San Francisco and Sydney," the statement further read.
The government added that the previous 10 conferences hosted each of: Kansas, Dubai, Shanghai, Liverpool, Rio de Janeiro, Moscow, Milan, Medellin, Johannesburg and Istanbul, noting that Saudi Arabia will host the next conference in 2020 and an official announcement in this regard will be made in Manama during the international gathering.
As host of the event, Bahrain has invited all UN member states except Israel, Myanmar, North Korea, Taiwan, Iran and Qatar, the government said in a statement. However, the government said that the organizers have the right to send invitations directly to any country.
The House of Representatives reiterated its rejection to the Israeli delegation participation, stressing that "the Bahraini people reject all forms of normalization". The House of Representatives stressed the kingdom's support for the just cause of Palestinian people, their legitimate rights and the establishment of their independent state.
