Bahrain Bans Use of Plastic Bags Starting July 21

Bahrain Mirror: Chief Executive of the Supreme Council for Environment Mohammed Mubarak Bin Daina said that Bahrain will prevent plastic bags starting July 21, 2019.
Bin Daina explained that the decision comes in implementation of the Ministerial Committee for Urbanization and Infrastructure's regarding regulating and reducing plastic usage.
He said that the order will regulate and phase out the use of plastic bags. The first phase will focus on single-use plastic bags as well as banning the import of non-biodegradable plastic bags. Later phases will witness a permanent ban on the use of plastic bags at certain malls and supermarkets.
