Bahrain Mirror: Director of Bahrain Institute for Rights and Democracy, Sayed Ahmed Al-Wadaei, spoke about the suffering of Abdulhadi Mushaima, father of the first martyr in the Bahraini uprising.
Al-Wadaei said via his Twitter account that "Abdulhadi Mushaima, 57, father of the first martyr in the Bahraini uprising, was recently jailed over peaceful protests in 2019. He suffers from diabetes, which the World Health Organization considers one of the dangerous diseases in case the person contracted Coronavirus."
Al-Wadaei explained that Abdulhadi Mushaima suffers diabetic seizures in prison due to his irregular access to medication.
He confirmed that Abdulhadi told his family that daily new Coronavirus cases are reported in the Dry Dock Prison, particularly in block 6, where he is being held, which puts his life to danger in case he gets infected.
Despite his health condition and age, the judge refused to alternate Mushaima's sentence, which proves that there is discrimination in the implementation of law and that political prisoners are excluded from it.
Al-Wadaei also revealed an urgent letter by Lord Scriven to British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab in which he demanded the secretary to take a quick action to release Abdulhadi Mushaima, who was sentenced over taking part in a peaceful assembly 2 years ago.
It is to mention that the detention of Abdulhadi Mushaima coincides with the 10th anniversary of his son's martyrdom.
