Al-Wefaq: Regime Carried out 470 HR Violations between January and March 2023

Bahrain Mirror: Al-Wefaq Society documented 470 human rights violations practiced by the regime, from January 1 to March 31, 2023, including 283 house raids and 36 arbitrary arrests.
Al-Wefaq confirmed in its report that the regime issued 26 summonses against 21 citizens, noting that some of them were summoned more than once, mainly Mounir Mushaima, brother of martyr Sami Mushaima, and Abdulmajid Abdullah Mohsen, known as Haj Somoud, in addition to 22 arbitrary prison sentences during the first three months of 2023.
The society documented 85 individual violations in prisons, 83 of them in Jaw Central Prison and one in Dry Dock Prison. The violations included torture, ill-treatment and denial of treatment and education.
7 cases of collective punishment were documented in prisons, 6 in Jaw Prison and one in Dry Dock Prison. Besides, 10 individual protests were monitored in prisons, all of them were hunger strikes, 9 of them were in Jaw prison and one in Dry Dock prison. Meanwhile, the number of collective protests in prisons reached 3, all of them were in Jaw Central Prison.
281 house raids were carried out in 36 areas, mainly in Al-Daih, Sanabis, and Jidhafs, while the number of peaceful protests reached 207 in 44 areas within the 3 months.
