Bahrain Mirror: Sheikh Ali Rahma called on the Bahraini community to initiate embracing and supporting the released political prisoners by providing them with jobs and shelter, emphasizing the importance of financial support from their families, relatives, and friends "to prevent despair from creeping into the released prisoner and the feeling that he is alone in society."
Sheikh Rahma, speaking during Friday prayers at the Fatima Al-Zahraa Mosque in Hamad Town on April 26, 2024, stated that "many of the released individuals are searching for jobs, some need training and skill development, and some suffer from illnesses and health problems in need of treatment, while many of them need suitable housing to settle in, and many of them are of marriage age and need support to take this step".
While highlighting that "the greatest responsibility lies with the government since they (the released prisoners) are citizens with rights and duties" he emphasized that "civil society, individuals, institutions, and entities have a significant responsibility towards the needs of the large number of released prisoners, especially since many of them belong to families with limited incomes"
He further pointed out that "the primary responsibility for managing the support of the released prisoners and alleviating their suffering falls on their families and relatives," explaining that "each family can open a bank account for the released prisoner, and its capable members commit to contributing a specified amount for six months. Additionally, opportunities are provided for contributions from friends, relatives, and all those who wish to do good".
