BahrainMirror(Exclusive): Abbas Al-Moghanni, a relative of the activist Mohammed Al-Moghanni (35 years) who is jailed for multiple charges, including responsibility of "Salmabad store" and membership in the Feb 14 coalition, talked about Mohammed appearance in court today, where they renewed his imprisonment, while handcuffed from behind, without a presence of his lawyer or notice of his family, and was surrounded by seven plain clothed policemen.
He said in his Twitter account: “It is a farce court in Bahrain». And wondered «How a judge accepts to bring a defendant to the courtroom while his hands tied from behind?”.
He added: “How a judge accepts bringing the detainee Mohammed Al-Moghanni to the courtroom restrained by seven civilians, denying him from looking to the right or left, and without his lawyer or any of his family?”
Jassim Sarhan, a lawyer, said “I saw the hero detained, Mohammed Al-Moghanni, after presenting him to the judge, restrained by seven members of the civilian police officers and hardly could hail him.
Al-Moghanni pointed out to different kinds of tortures which he suffered, along with two other prisoners in the same case, Hussein Al-Aali and Jafar Eid, in Riffa police station, which they described as “Guantanamo Riffa”.
He said “The detainees Mohammed Al-Moghanni, Jafar Eid, and Hussein Al-Aali are exposed daily to torture in Guantanamo Riffa prison by torturers just for revenge and aiming for promotion”, explaining: “They enjoy torturing detainees, and consider torturing as a pride and praise for promotion” he said.
He added that “They are placed in a very narrow cell, handcuffed from behind, with a black bag on their heads, while do not see any light for weeks. He mentioned that Hussein Al-Aali suffers from high blood pressure and diabetes, Jafar Eid suffers from kidney problems, and Mohammad Al-Moghanni has high cholesterol.
BahrainMirror published earlier several reports on the brutal torture that Mohamed Al-Moghanni experienced in Riffa Police Station since his arrest on 22 July 2012, and was taken to hospital more than once.
Mohammad Yousuf Al-Moghanni is the first Bahraini detainee who is officially charged with being a member of February 14 youth revolution coalition, which all of its members are hiding and leading the demonstrations in Bahrain since more than a year and a half, while the regime is striving to the hunt down its members, but to no avail.
Muhammad was also charged to have links to the store of explosives (5 tons), which the Ministry of Interior claimed it had discovered in Salmabad.
The detainee Mohammed Al-Moghanni, a 35-year-old, married and has 3 children, was arrested when he was returning with his family from Iran, which he was visiting for the first time in his life.
He disappeared for one week, and then it was known that he was questioned by the National Security Agency interrogators in the Criminal Investigation Department, with a direct help from the security team of 'Scotland Yard'.
The sources said that Mohammed Al-Moghanni is treated as a senior terrorist, as police filmed him wherever he was transferred, and his face is covered if taken out from the cell so nobody can see him. Those sources noted that of all his family members are under surveillance, up to this moment.
