The Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society issued a statement on the fourth anniversary of its dissolution, liquidation, and the closure of its buildings by the Bahraini authorities on June 14, 2016, after a lawsuit was filed against it.

"Al-Wefaq will remain steadfast with the wise [religious] authority Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, its prominent figures, cadres, clerics and beloved people," Sheikh Hussein Al-Daihi, Al-Wefaq Deputy Secretary-General, said on the anniversary of Al-Wefaq's dissolution.

The Al-Wefaq Deputy S-G said that the massacre committed by the regime 3 years ago in Al-Diraz, which claimed the lives of 5 martyrs, aimed at "ending the leadership of Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Ahmed Qassim, who enjoyed an internal and external consensus rarely to be seen in our political movement."

Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society considered preventing the broadcast of a symposium against the Zionist enemy by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development an act in contradiction with the Bahraini Constitution and local laws. It said that this step is among the normalization policy adopted by the authorities.

The Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society said in a statement it issued on Saturday (May 9, 2020) "the priority today is to confront this pandemic, unite and direct efforts towards facing it and maintaining the safety and health of our people and taking care of their affairs."

Al-Wefaq Deputy Security-General, Sheikh Hussein Al-Daihi, said that Bahrain has become a model for the absence of a free press and spread of yellow press responsible for polishing tyranny.

Al-Wefaq Deputy Secretary-General, Sheikh Hussein Al-Daihi, stressed on the importance of the call launched by Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim to release the political prisoners, in order to protect their souls in the light of the Coronavirus outbreak.

Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society said that more than 1,000 Bahraini citizens are still stuck in Iran, in addition to other citizens stuck in other countries, including Qatar, Jordan and other countries. The regime refuses their return and puts various obstacles to prevent it.

Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society said that the recent releases of a number of political prisoners in Bahrain, although a small number, are a step towards rationality and a reconsideration of the existing political trend, which has led to a deterioration of the general situation and a lack of national consensus.

Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society expressed "sincere greetings, appreciation and gratitude to the great people of Bahrain, with all its men, women, young people and elders for their active participation in the ninth anniversary of the popular movement in Bahrain."

Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society organized an event entitled "On the Road to Victory" in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, which was attended by a number of political, religious and social figures, in addition to a number of activists and interested parties.

Al-Wefaq Deputy Secretary-General Sheikh Hussein Al-Daihi confirmed that the Bahraini opposition's determination to stick to a peaceful approach is a strategic choice and not subjected to circumstances.

Al-Wefaq Islamic National Society expressed condolences over the death of former prisoner of conscience Sayed Kadhem Abbas who passed away on Monday (February 3, 2020) after sufferings due to torture, ill-treatment and denial of needed treatment.
