On July 13, 2021, a remote meeting was held between the godfather of the Bahraini Foreign Ministry Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, with First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Emine Dzhaparova. During the meeting, Al Khalifa stressed Manama's support for the unity of the Ukrainian territories.

A Bahraini family of eight members in Khaive, Ukraine, sent an appeal for help, saying in a phone call with the Al-Bilad daily "We are under bombardment and we call for our rescue by getting us out of Ukraine."

"Bahrain is preventing Bahraini companies from carrying out any activities in the temporarily occupied Crimea," Deputy Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa told a Ukrainian official.
