The conference held by Al-Wefaq to launch a human rights report in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, is not the first Bahraini opposition activity, and will not be its last, of course. However, we can say that this conference included no provocation to the regime in Bahrain that would evoke all this alerting.

Bahrain Press Association (BPA) condemned the Bahraini government targeting of political dissidents and human rights defenders and the ongoing pursuing policies and their extension outside the country.

Human rights activist Yousif Rabei stressed that "We don't have any problem with the Lebanese state. We respect Lebanon and its peculiarity as being a minaret for freedom of expression."

Head of the Bahrain Forum for Human Rights commented on the Bahraini Interior Minister request from his Lebanese counterpart to deport members of Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society from Lebanon saying "Government of oppression, haven't you had enough of the epidemic of violations inside Bahrain to export it abroad?"

The Bahrain Forum for Human Rights (BFHR) called on the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, to intervene in the face of the arbitrariness of the Bahraini authorities, which are exporting their violations abroad by targeting political dissidents and human rights defenders.
